[Entrance Exam] Final Exam
[ It's all happened very suddenly, but regardless, you're here now. The evidence has been examined and collected. You've now been ushered into the classroom to discuss the murder of the great detective himself, Sherlock Holmes. The traditional set up has been disturbed-- all the desks are now arranged in a perfect circle; one desk for each person that's participating in the program. There are nameplates for everyone, and they have been bolted to each of the desks, facing the inside of the circle...
...including the names of the ones who are no longer with you, the Prospect of Elucidating and the Prospect of Murder. Their chairs have been placed on top of their desks, signifying that they will not be needed. Above of their desks are holograms of their portraits from their profiles, grayed out and bloodstained.
At the front of the classroom, Vivienne sits anxiously behind the teacher's desk. The projector shows Sherlock's portrait, along with five other portraits that are listed under an auspicious header. ]
[ The physical evidence tray sits in the middle of the circle of desks; you all have the Evidence app on your tablets to access photo evidence. And although she appears reluctant, Vivienne gives some final instructions. ]
Your final test... is to find the culprit. Naturally... the person you find guilty will be... punished... so... make sure you look for an answer you're... confident in. An error in judgment would be... cruelly... fatal...
Examination START.

Here we go. ]
But I did it for all of us! My memories were bad, but they obviously weren't the worst here. I mean, you--
[ Turning to Nine and Twelve with a desperate look in his eyes-- ]
--I saw you both every night, and I know you must have had it worse than I did! And Aiden, whatever it was that made him do what he did...
[ His hands ball into fists at his sides. ]
It wasn't just a matter of waiting it out! I asked! This was never going to stop until someone did it!
S-so-- You can't vote for me when I was the hero who saved you from all of that, right??
Re: 2/2
No. No.

[ Whatever tiny bit of sympathy is gone. ]
Our bad memories are ours to deal with. Not yours.

This can't be happening.

Which was gross irresponsibility.
But I don't think he put it in your head because of everyone else.
It's ok if you were affected.

[ he...doesn't look too happy. the fact that many people were willing to sacrifice themselves for him...and then getting treated like that.
when he speaks, his voice is deadpan, eyes void of emotion. ]
Do you not see? While the death of a Heroic Spirit is something expendable, the fact that many people were willing to sacrifice themselves for you is not. Useful tools for the earth would have been wasted. You're not any more special than any of us.
You're no hero.

Mishima.... Is this really your justice? Murder, or if Sherlock really asked, assisted suicide-?

[ He looks pained by the fact that he's shouting like this at someone he'd started to think of as a friend, and his voice cracks a little. ]
You were hardly sleeping for days because you were afraid of what someone else's memories might make them do to you! Doesn't it make more sense to do it to someone who volunteered for it than let it happen to someone else who didn't want to die??

[It's true that it's been a bad week for most everyone here -- he can't really even imagine how it must have been for some of the others considering how many different backgrounds are represented. But even still.]
I won't vote for you. But did you consider if everyone else wanted you to do something like this for them?
no subject
N-no, but-- if it went on long enough that even one person had ended up snapping and killing someone who didn't want to die, wouldn't that have been worse?

Your actions define who you are. The meaning behind them ultimately doesn't matter. Not to those on the outside, anyway.

Mishima. What's the last thing you remember? From back home?

[ Terra closed his eyes. He's been there.
He's believed in the wrong person, and listened to the wrong people.
He even... ...
But still, he shakes his head and reopens his eyes. ]
It isn't right to kill someone innocent. It won't fix anything.
Look, I'm not going to vote for you, but no one should have to sacrifice themselves or have someone else sacrificed in order to keep everyone safe.

sad. ]
I understand what you were trying to do, Mishima. And you were trying to do something that you thought would save us all. I agree with the others' sentiments--taking an innocent's life will never be acceptable.
But...I will not vote for you. I refuse to partake in condemning you to such a terrible fate. You don't deserve the punishment that they are trying to inflict on you.

[Max isn't really making eye contact. This dude just admitted to being a killer. And Sherlock Holmes was a kind person she could trust. And Mishima...]
All you had to do was communicate. Now you're asking for us not to vote for the person that killed our friend.
It's despicable. Whatever your reason, it's despicable.

At first she's silent, she's always been bad at expressing herself so she's not sure what to say in this situation. After letting out an exhale, she makes her way over to him and gently places her hand on his arm. ]
... Mishima-kun.
[ She's not upset nor is she disappointed by the turn of events. The only thing she feels is an overwhelming amount of sadness, for him, Sherlock and everyone that has to suffer in this dire situation. No one deserved to be here. ]
Murdering someone isn't right but I do understand where you are coming from, zura. Your heart was in the right place. [ There's no way she could condemn him for his actions. Not when he was trying to save everyone. ] I won't be voting for you.
