Awaken...
[ Everything still feels a bit hazy when you pull yourself out of bed this morning. Bed... not all of you may remember going to bed. It may take several long minutes for that feeling to die down. Several things may seem immediately wrong. But even if the basics are familiar-- there's a sort of uneasy feeling of wrongness that lingers as you come to. That feeling will probably never go away entirely.
Attached to your wrist is a small plastic wristband, almost like a watch, but without the numbers. Try as you might, it won't come off. For those of you who are familiar, it is designed with an uncanny familiarity to a Fitbit.
And then there's your current abode-- the room is fully furnished for one person-- and you are in fact alone, which may be a relief... or a great concern. The basics are all there: desk, lamp, bed, closet...
As the little things go though, it's almost completely bare of any personal flare. No personal effects at all...
With one exception.
On the desk sits a black tablet. And almost immediately after you find it, the thing starts going off one rapid fire 'ding' after another. Check it out and you will find several messages have popped up on the screen for you to scan through. The source and the content is... well. As questionable as everything else this morning I'd say. ]
[ It would seem that you have much to investigate. Perhaps discussing it with these "others" may be the most beneficial way to proceed for now. At the very least there is a promise of answers in the near future. Whether or not they'll be to your liking though... highly doubtful at this stage, really. But who knows! Going back to school (or to school for your first time) can't be so bad, right? ]

[ A startled girl running around with a tablet, well, it's not like he isn't trained to watch out for victims.
I mena, in this case, they're all victims, but Hank is only nice to people in distress, go figure! He holds out his arms, showing her he means her no harm. ]
Hey, it's alright. I don't know what the hell's going on here either, but we'll figure it out, just stay calm.
no subject
How can anyone expect me to stay calm after waking up in an unfamiliar place, all these...these kidnapped teenagers to look after, when I should be trying to just--
[ Her voice catches in her throat and her grip goes lax. She's going to drop that tablet at this rate. ]
Just... [ ...The words just turn into a low groan. ]
no subject
[ He holds out his hand. He'll take the tablet if you want!! ]
You're definitely right about the number of kids there are here. It's pretty fucking sick that somebody would do this shit.
no subject
It's...beyond sick, it's- [ The rage in her starts to swell again. Let it overwhelm her fear, that'll be good! ] It's absolutely fucking appalling, whatever bawheids think they can do this.
no subject
No disagreements here. [ Whatever that one word meant, anyway. ] I'd like to give whoever's in charge a piece of my mind, and a piece of my fist.
no subject
Whatever they think they're doing... I'd right join you. [ mmmm-- ] I need to- to yell at someone, over all of this, or I'll just explode.

[ Hank shakes his head. This whole thing is fucked. ]
This whole thing is fucked. We gotta find a way out of here.
[ "We" being the adults, obviously. ]

...I've mostly spoken to teenagers so far, so this is... Thank you, it's been- it'd already been a bit of a day, before kidnapping got dragged into the equation.
no subject
[ Yay, mission accomplished. It's almost like this is part of the job. ]
no subject
[ It doesn't feel like it's ever ended. Even though she slept, it- it can't feel like it ended.
She lets out a breath. ] I'm...Rebecca Gales. And you are?
no subject
[ He's gotta ask. ]
Oh, yeah. I'm Hank Anderson. I'm with the DPD, if that means anything to you.

[ The scent strangles her, as she stands in a horrible puddle. Isabella would never leave something like this without cleaning it up, she...
"Belle?" ]
It was just- qu-quite a day. [ She swallows down the memories. Let them come back to her in nightmares again. ] Um, it doesn't, no. I'm sorry. Is that- some kind of police?
no subject
That's right. I'm from Detroit, so that's just the police department there.
no subject
Oh! Oh, in America, yeah? I've never been, but...I've heard there are a lot of cars, in that city?
[ becca no ]
no subject
Yeah, that's right. It's where the first cars got started. And androids, too. Guess they thought it'd be fitting.
no subject
no subject
Surprise, we got androids.

[ He shrugs. ]
Androids don't become a thing until about 2022.
