Break the Ice Part 2
Well that was. [Han...] You all did really well yesterday.
[She didn't participate but of course, she was watching! ...probably on her phone. But today she's here to assist! Which means there's probably some other stupid activity ready to be thrown your way.]
Today we have a different kind of bonding activity for you! The name of today's game is--! Two lies and a truth. Today you're going to test how well you know each other-- and maybe learn a lot more!
[And for those who may not know the rules--]
You're going to give someone a list of two things that are not true about you-- and one that is. And based on what they know about you and their impressions of you, they're going to do their best to find the truth. When it's all done, you'll tell them whether they're right or not and if they got it wrong-- you'll tell them the truth!

[ He shrugs. ]
Ran my own task force and everthing.

[ HEY YO. ]
That's impressive. Police and law based work sounds like a lot of stress - people are always breathing down your neck to solve things even when it's not that simple.
[ Is that why so many people turn to fabricating evidence or accept bribes to make problems go away? ]

[ Hank laughs. Does probably-divorced count? ]
Yeah, it's a whole lotta bullshit. I used to be really into my job before, though. Real star of the department and shit.
[ He only accepts bribes in hamburgers and free food for petty crimes, thank u. ]

[ SPARKLE SPARKLE. ]
"Used to be"? So you don't feel that same drive and determination anymore?
[ But he accepts bribes. How can he be trusted now?! ]
no subject
Fair enough.
[ He clenches his teeth a bit, relaxing and stretching his jaw just to stall. ]
Sure don't. Working hard just didn't do it for me anymore.
no subject
... So you work half-assed now instead?
no subject
[ Yep, he just don't care. ]

That's one way to delegate.
[ Unimpressed. ]

[ He's LAZY ]

[ Sounds about right. ]

[ You sense that your social link is not high enough to unlock his tragic backstory... ]

[ Alas. Time to rank up that confidant with gifts. Where are the AA leaflets? ]
That's pretty common though. There are always people willing to sit back and ignore things happening under their noses. [ Especially if bribes are involved. He doesn't seem surprised. ]

[ Hank smiles facetiously. Maybe he's just depressed, Akira!! ]
I just coast on by and do as little work as till that pension kicks in.
no subject
How nice for you. I'm sure you have many happy years to sit back with your money and not think about the people you could have helped.
no subject
Look, kid, I'm not gonna justify myself to you. Why don't you ask Connor if you wanna know why I get to just sit back at the office while the rest of the squad does the heavy lifting?
[ uh, he's embellishing. He's definitely embellishing. ]
no subject
[ Hmm. ]

[ Hank nods. ]
Connor's a big fan of direct questions. Go ahead and ask him "Why does Lieutenant Anderson think he can just sit back and do nothing at his job?" and he'll give you my whole fucking psych eval.
[ Or whatever he feels is relevant, you know. ]
no subject
I'll keep that in mind then. If I want anything from Connor, be direct.
no subject
[ it does not, and Hank wouldn't know anyway, but ok Hank. ]
no subject
I know one or two people who tend to say what they think without fear. They're some of the best people I know.
no subject
Guess you and Connor are gonna be good friends, then.
[ meanwhile: hank... ]

I've never been friends with an android before. Is it fun?
