[Entrance Exam] Arrival
You wake up. There’s a dull, throbbing pain in your head that lasts for a few moments. You’re slightly disoriented at first, but once you come to your senses, you realize that you are not where you were last. You lift your head and realize that you're sitting at a desk. You aren’t quite sure where this is, exactly, but from what you can tell--desk and all--this appears to be some sort of...fancy classroom. Maybe there are others in the room who are as lost and confused as you are; maybe you’re the only one. At least you’re not in the dark. The room is well-lit, giving you a proper view of the blue and silver designs that make up the school’s colors.
You feel something around your wrist, so look down at your hands and notice a strange sort of bracelet. Some of you may be able to discern that it's some sort of Fitbit, but try as you might, you cannot remove it.
You only have a few more seconds to process what’s happening before you hear something buzzing on the desk you’re sitting at.
It appears to be a tablet of some sort. It turns on automatically due to a notification that pops up on the screen. The notification reads, “Good morning, Prospect. Welcome to Fayflower University’s Entrance Exam!”
There’s a “Next” button that leads you to another notification: “Please spend the next hour introducing yourself to your fellow Prospects. More information on your peers can be found on the "Profiles" app. Failure to engage will result in punishment. Be sure to adhere to the rules, which can be found in an application called “Rules” on this device.”
There’s one last notification: “When the hour is up, report to the Gymnasium immediately for your Orientation. You will be given further information and instruction there.”
You exit out of the notification. You now understand what the notification means: the tablet has four applications: Rules, Tasks, Profiles, and Maps. If you try to click on the Tasks app, another notification pops up indicating that the application is currently unaccessible. The Maps app only shows you a map of the building you're in right now. There's a little marker indicating your location as well: The one and only classroom in the vicinity.
A large red timer appears at the bottom of the screen. 59:59.
You'd better get started.

[ He doesn't
openlywant to play games with you!!1 Besides, he's hung up on this weird outlook the guy has. ]Anyway, how could you possibly know things will turn out okay?
no subject
I don't. We might even get killed after our introductions or thrown into a volcano. [ yes, he's saying this with the same chipper smile that he's had this whole time. ]
But I think it's better to believe that things will be okay instead of expecting the worst. We're twenty-something people, no? Plus the Admin! I think things will be alright.
no subject
[ He, uh... studied the profiles closely. It's all locked in, even if he wanted to forget it. Unless, of course, he finds a way to permanently lose more memories?
As for the chipper attitude while talking about death? ]
Well, at least you understand the chances. [ ... ] What's a volcano?
no subject
Volcanoes are like...mountains that spew lava! And lava is like...fire and rock mixed together
no subject
... Yes, actually. I wanted to know who I'm here with.
[ UGH WHY ARE WE TALKING ABOUT FIRE. He'd been managing just fine in not thinking about how uncomfortably warm it is? ]
That sounds like something out of a movie. The only mountains I know of spew shards of ice.
no subject
[ flat is absolutely AMAZED by this fact! ]
Are you from an alien planet?! Wait-- does this mean you're an alien?
no subject
Yeah... It sucks for anyone who lives around one, since they can't walk around outside while it's erupting... [ . . . ] Not that I see why they'd want to. You could throw water outside and it would freeze before even hitting the ground.
[ Honestly, why do they even live there... ]
What.
[ Congrats, you've completely taken him by surprise.
...
You know what....... ]
Seems my true identity has been discovered.
no subject
[ if flat could sparkle, then he absolutely would about now. his eyes are wide and bright with excitement ]
You're a real alien from outer space? Can you turn your hands into tentacles? Can you eat my brain? [ a pause. ] Wait, don't eat my brain!
no subject
Last I checked, I'm not interested in... brains. [ said with a bit of discomfort ] I'm going to assume, at this point, you've never heard of Daeseon...
no subject
no subject
[ Huh... He likes that name a lot more than "Daeseon" honestly. ]
no subject
[ he grins ]
So what's outer space like? Have you ever met tentacle monsters? Or- or- intelligent life forms? Wait, you're an intelligent life form! [ a pause ] Right?
no subject
[ His mouth opens... then closes...
... help... ]
This is my first time away from Daeseon, but everyone's currently working on fixing the ship so we can head over to a new one.
[ Yes, he just... basically admitted they're planning to inhabit a new planet... soon... ]
I haven't met any monsters like that, though.
[ Not... answering that last question. ]
no subject
[ he nods eagerly at aiden's explanation, excited over the explanation. ]
That is so cool...I've never met an alien before! I mean, I know about them from movies and games and obvious knowledge that we can't be alone in this universe, but I've never thought that I'd be able to meet one!
no subject
[ He imagines it would be too dangerous.
Aiden gives a soft sigh, shaking his head. He'll just... let him have this dream, he supposes??? ]
I never expected to get kidnapped to some school, but... guess this place is just doing its best to surpass our expectations.
