[Entrance Exam] Arrival

You wake up. There’s a dull, throbbing pain in your head that lasts for a few moments. You’re slightly disoriented at first, but once you come to your senses, you realize that you are not where you were last. You lift your head and realize that you're sitting at a desk. You aren’t quite sure where this is, exactly, but from what you can tell--desk and all--this appears to be some sort of...fancy classroom. Maybe there are others in the room who are as lost and confused as you are; maybe you’re the only one. At least you’re not in the dark. The room is well-lit, giving you a proper view of the blue and silver designs that make up the school’s colors.

You feel something around your wrist, so look down at your hands and notice a strange sort of bracelet. Some of you may be able to discern that it's some sort of Fitbit, but try as you might, you cannot remove it.

You only have a few more seconds to process what’s happening before you hear something buzzing on the desk you’re sitting at.

It appears to be a tablet of some sort. It turns on automatically due to a notification that pops up on the screen. The notification reads, “Good morning, Prospect. Welcome to Fayflower University’s Entrance Exam!”

There’s a “Next” button that leads you to another notification: “Please spend the next hour introducing yourself to your fellow Prospects. More information on your peers can be found on the "Profiles" app. Failure to engage will result in punishment. Be sure to adhere to the rules, which can be found in an application called “Rules” on this device.”

There’s one last notification: “When the hour is up, report to the Gymnasium immediately for your Orientation. You will be given further information and instruction there.”

You exit out of the notification. You now understand what the notification means: the tablet has four applications: Rules, Tasks, Profiles, and Maps. If you try to click on the Tasks app, another notification pops up indicating that the application is currently unaccessible. The Maps app only shows you a map of the building you're in right now. There's a little marker indicating your location as well: The one and only classroom in the vicinity.

A large red timer appears at the bottom of the screen. 59:59.

You'd better get started.

[ He has to bite back the bitter smirk, but there's a flash of something in his eyes. Something dark and unpleasant, yet very carefully held in place. ]

I wouldn't think this qualifies as an "escape" by most people's definition of the word. [ a shrug ] Anyway, it wasn't the worst situation I ever could have been in.

It shouldn't be any situation someone should be in.

[ ... ]

You're not counting this as an escape because we were brought here somehow without our knowing, I'm guessing.

[ But to Terra it sounded like a way to escape from a bad situation. Then again, he knows it's probably not going to be the same for everyone else. ]

That's part of it. The other part is that we're all very effectively trapped here, as far as I can tell. [ casual wave of his hand is given, a dry smirk ghosting over his lips ] Or didn't you get the memo?

[ With a quiet sigh, he adds: ]

And that's not even going into the other, more important details.

...For two weeks, apparently. I heard it loud and clear.

[ ... ]

What other details?

[ There are many things to consider, he knows. But, he's curious what the other man has on the top of his list. ]

"Apparently" being the key word.

[ And now he's sighing. ]

Not having access to our abilities - aside from anything mundane, not having our weapons, and not having any way of contacting people outside of this school.

[ Third is actually the most important, which is why he listed it last. Because Aiden. ]

[ He'll pause. ]

I'm hoping they'll keep to their word.

[ Otherwise we'll have problems. But, Terra is aware that even this could turn sour -- he's had enough manipulation at the hands of Xehanort to realize that, at least. ]

...I haven't gotten a chance to try contacting anyone. [ Partly because he doesn't know how to. ] But that one is kind of strange, seeing as we're supposed to be just here to attend this University place in order to help them with their issue.

[ A quiet exhale. ]

Only one way to find out if they will...

[ He pulls out a totally useless cell phone, showing it to Terra. ]

While you guys were busy introducing yourself to one another, I spent that hour searching the school. I didn't find anything useful. This whole place is locked down.

What's this?

[ He asks, when the brunette shows him a complete useless cell phone because he's sure as hell never seen one before. However, at the mention of the place being locked down, that causes him to tense. He hadn't the chance to explore this place properly and fully, so hearing this was kind of alarming.

If it was meant for them to just do some intensive studying it shouldn't mean that they'd be boxed in. Then again, there was that so-called threat... ]

Also, all of this makes me wonder why they're going through so much trouble to keep us in one place besides for the reason of studying here. At first I thought that maybe locking us all in would mean to keep us away from the threat, but if we had our weapons or powers then we could at least defend ourselves.

Hm? [ softly blinking ] It's a phone.

[ How does someone not know what a phone is! ... Granted, he does know phones are a luxury of even his home, given how difficult they are to afford. ]

Not to mention, if they have the ability to seal powers, there's no telling what kind of threat they're capable of being. [ sigh ] Guess we'll just have to stay on our guard, until we figure out how to protect ourselves.

[ He's massaging the bridge of his nose now. ]

In case something happens to go wrong before we find a way to get them back...
