WEEK 3

[ Week 3 rolls around the corner-- with all the loss of joy after the trial. Can you keep up hope after everything that's happened? On top of that... it would seem that that whatever has effected your memories here-- it's beginning to wear away.

You're not stuck in the same place forever. Ssssort of, anyway. The stairs in the main building appear to have been uplocked and now... now you have access to a whole new floor of rooms. At least that's something!

Just along the line there, please.

Change 'any purpose' to 'as long as it is not even remotely murder related.'

[He thinks Gogol is smart enough to not involve him in the set-up of a murder... and this written word won't do much, but he wants to at least be able to say he tried to cover his bases.]

But- but that would mean no death traps!

I don't want the teenagers here to become more traumatized then they already are.

I'm well aware of that.... but knowing you... an death trap murder would be ah.... messy.

We already have too many reminders of the possibility of our own deaths around here. We don't need another.

And... I'd rather not find out who would count as the killer in such an event.

One that we could avoid if you didn't set up an death trap in the first place.

[Poe just... sighs deeply and tries to grab the I.O.U. paper Gogol wrote up so he can make edits.]

[Poe takes a few seconds to think back to their conversation in the library... and then makes a split decision.]

If I sign this... can I trust you to not make me regret it?

Can you really trust the words of a clown?

I can't... but can I trust the word of Nikolai Gogol?

[He slides the paper across to Poe.]

That’s for you to decide.

[Poe looks at Gogol for a long few moments, before silently signing the paper. He said he wanted to understand the other man and he meant it. Some measure of trust is required for that to happen.]

[He takes the paper and delicately folds it into his pocket.]

I’ll make sure to save it for the most important of occasions!
