 [ Week 3 rolls around the corner-- with all the loss of joy after the trial. Can you keep up hope after everything that's happened? On top of that... it would seem that that whatever has effected your memories here-- it's beginning to wear away.

You're not stuck in the same place forever. Ssssort of, anyway. The stairs in the main building appear to have been uplocked and now... now you have access to a whole new floor of rooms. At least that's something!

[Mitarai is seeing a lot more of everyone than last week now that he is taking one entire meal in the cafeteria. It seems like getting lunch there is the first thing he really does after leaving his room. He is knifing at his steak with determination today, it genuinely seems to be difficult for him, both the physical strength and keeping his eyes down there instead of the hallucination he's muttering at.]

Even if it's true, just how do you expect me to say that? It's not like there's a c-calendar, you know?

[Mitarai spends most of the actual day in the computer lab, plainly absorbed with the state of the art animation software. Judging by the fully saturated screen, he seems to be working on backgrounds of some kind. A red sky?

At nighttime he's lying in the grass with his hands behind his head and his blazer laid flat underneath his upper body. Not even in the gazebo proper. Mitarai in his white button-down shirt is just a speck in the grass looking up at the stars which are also white specks.]

Decent, I think.... most of my hallucinations appear to be rather limited in scope.

[He has so few friends that there are only two people that count as relying on him. And he's just pointedly ignoring the hallucinatory Ranpo's antics... though he welcomes the presence of the hallucinatory Karl on his shoulders.]

That's a good thing... I don't think I have the worst of them either. It's really obvious there's nothing I can do to help them. I had to accept that a long time ago.

Yes... it's out of our hands at this point. All we can do is wait until next Tuesday.

[Where they'll probably switch the motive to something different... or far more likely, someone will snap and murder someone else.]

They give us a motive each Tuesday... if no one has killed by then, they might try and change the motive since this one would have proved ineffective. Remember, this one is also affecting Todd- erm- Oswald.

I don't understand why they're giving us so much time... If the effects were accelerated, it wouldn't be surprising for someone to submit within 24 hours, would it...? They just like to watch us dance, they're so cruel!

My personal guess is that they can't control how fast the effects happen... but that also is a possibility, I suppose.

Is this more like an OVA or something? 'Cuz I don't think two months is enough time to animate a whole series.

To be honest, it's more of an arthouse short than anything. I think five minutes is the most I can produce if I want to really captivate the audience the whole time. Especially without voice acting... Obviously there are anime that do their best to adapt a source material and focus on the plot with simpler visuals, but my situation isn't really like that.

Well, I figured this was gonna be an original story. You got some kind of simple plot set up?

It's a butterfly flying along and encountering things. Nothing that hasn't been done, but I'd like to think I have a good idea for an overarching message...

You think so? I'm relieved - I thought it might be too abstract, since the butterfly is more the affected one than doing the affecting...

[ Oh hey, he's making more of an effort to eat his food now... he's kind of happy about that. He's in here briefly to grab his food--hallucinations or not, he needs to make sure he's eating his balanced meal.

His Master is saying as much anyway--or rather, the fake image. It's a little ironic. ]

[ He is a little distracted so he's standing there, holding his plate of food and wondering if Mitarai had spoken to him. ]

[Mitarai is now a little embarrassed that he's gotten so off-track from successfully carving his steak. To save face he uses his fork to grab one small potato chunk before continuing.]

I just... heard something extra weird from one of "them"... It's really not important.

[ Terra places his food down and sits down next to Mitarai after giving a nod. But after consideration, he does say: ]

Alright, but let me know if it starts to get too much. [ ...] How's the food?

[He gives a thin smile. It's not as thin as it could be.] It's pretty good; better than I thought it would be, really. Are you liking yours too?

[He looks over curiously. How does Terra get so jacked, if he does it while eating one of the vegan meals that's almost impressive]

[ Terra does it by being himself in training which is probably some sort of extreme training routine that'd make even this roleplayer cry. ]

It's alright. It's still not better than a home-cooked meal, but I'm not going to complain.

[ He continues to eat his meal. ]

Maybe I should make you something of mine sometime.

[His mouth forms an "oh" of great interest.]

I don't want to inconvenience you that much... but I have to admit I am really curious about what the food would be like in the Land of Departure...! It's probably really different from Japan - you know, that's where I'm from, and some of the others like Emiya-kun with his cooking for example...

[for one thing what place would even CALL themselves as gloomy a name as that, though this question is too rude]

It probably is, but I've definitely seen Master cook some of the things Shirou has.

[ So maybe it's kind of like a blend.

Also wow Mitarai, Land of Departure is such a nice name...okay no it's actually kind of sorrowful sounding but y'know. Anyway. ]

...Cooking something wouldn't be inconveniencing me at all. Unless you expected me to bake something like a cake.
