 [ Week 3 rolls around the corner-- with all the loss of joy after the trial. Can you keep up hope after everything that's happened? On top of that... it would seem that that whatever has effected your memories here-- it's beginning to wear away.

You're not stuck in the same place forever. Ssssort of, anyway. The stairs in the main building appear to have been uplocked and now... now you have access to a whole new floor of rooms. At least that's something!

[Mitarai was already kind of worried about Osomatsu at the motive but now he's walking in on this and oh my god. He had his suspicions and now he is pretty sure, about the identity of the guys.]

[ Karamatsu starts posing dramatically while Ichimatsu tries his best to make himself less noticable. ]

[Oh my god. He's making a huge mistake. He can't hear most of this. Now he's trapped because if he shows a sign he can't hear "everyone", it might stress Osomatsu out a huge amount. Quick, what was he supposed to hear just now? Maybe one of the others... asked Mitarai to do something? Perhaps instead mentioned a fact and he's supposed to mention the fact? Okay, it's time for his catch-all social excuse.]

Uh... I don't know for sure... Anime is my only talent after all... but it introduced me to you guys, so I'm... grateful...

Wait, does that mean he's never played baseball?

Because, Totty, he is grateful beyond gratefulness, having met us. Of course it's only wise to start talking about the joys of anime.

[ Choromatsu shoots Todomatsu a look, as does Osomatsu. ]

[Oh! Jyuushimatsu talks about baseball all the time! Mitarai should be on the lookout for this! Maybe Todomatsu disrespecting Osomatsu is a bad sign.]

I, I do. I think it's a great Japanese tradition... Though some of them focus way too much on the glory of the ace pitcher... Drawing eighteen characters is much easier than making seventeen friends to play baseball with. They're all important.

We gotta make all the friends to play baseball with! Muscle muscle! Hustle hustle!

[ Oso laughs in response. ]

[ Choromatsu turns red from the embarrassment. ]

ADGJI-WHA-I-- We're not talking about that! [ And then Choro starts pouting. ]

Come on, quit being in denial, Fappymatsu! [ Like how you're in denial yourself, Osomatsu? ] We all know what you're really thinking!

SHUT UP!

[ All the other brothers start snickering, resulting in Choro giving them a death glare. ]

[Mitarai forces a hearty snicker as well. If it were actually a skit and not a coping mechanism for being kidnapped and shown multiple desecrated permacorpses, it would be pretty funny. It's not, but hey.]

Well, whatever's on his mind can't possibly measure up to the beauty of the, uh, [Mitarai tries to pronounce the English and also has no idea how well this tongue-in-cheek approach is going to fly] K-Karamatsu Girls.

[ososoi]

HEH! This young man understands~! [ Karamatsu stands up while doing an over-the-top pose. ] Their beauty is almost indescribable! But indeed, you can describe it, though not easily! Their beauty knows no ends, no tragic ending in sight! [ Uh... ]

Their beauty shines brighter than any star! Their beauty is deeper than any ocean! And... [ Kara snaps his fingers. ] ...their beauty shall last forever~.

...Tch.

[ Ichimatsu decides in that moment to trip up Kara so that the latter falls flat on his face. ]

Oi, Ichimatsu! Wha-haha-t are ya...! [ Oso chuckles some more. Sorry, Karamatsu. ]

[Okay, this actually does get Mitarai to pop a genuine little grin. In a way the twenty seconds of reverent silence before what was probably Ichimatsu's expression of displeasure is almost more funny than whatever painful thing Karamatsu appeared to have said. It's... in a word, entertaining.

Wow, he feels so guilty.]

Now, now, fighting isn't good.

[ososoi]

Yeah, ya heard him! Play nice! [ Ichimatsu stuffs his hands into his pockets, clearly unapologetic. ]

[ Kara seems to be conked out for now. ]

Oi! Karamatsu! [ Oso nudges nothing Karamatsu. ] Ya still alive?

[ Karamatsu quietly groans. ]

Yep, you're fine!

[You know, this is a really good question. Did the Administration catch Osomatsu alone? Hostages of some sort would be on brand.

Mitarai gets up and offers a hand to the nothing that Osomatsu nudged.]

Now's not the time to fall into despair, Karamatsu...!

[ososoi]

[ Karamatsu lifts his head, his nose bleeding from the impact. ]

Heh! I shan't ever fall victim to despair. I shall--

[ Just as Karamatsu reaches out for Mitarai's hand, the painful brother gets interrupted by Ichi stomping on his head. ]

Stop that, Ichima-haha-tsu! Seriously, that's not even funny anymore~! [ Then why are you still laughing? ]

[ Ichi just stares intensely. ]

Come on! Get off him!

[ There's a pause... and then Ichi stomps on Kara again before going back to sitting down. ]

Where the fuck...? [ Ichi's clearly wondering why there aren't any cats here. ]

...Ya miss the cats, huh?

[Mitarai freezes like a smiling statue for a second. Maybe he wasn't supposed to touch "them". But then he figures it out - Ichimatsu got in the way before he could touch Karamatsu. Well, clearly Ichimatsu deserves some attention.]

It really must be lonely without them, but, you know, there aren't any rats here, either.

[Except Mitarai himself.]

[ososoi]

[ Ichimatsu starts muttering under his breath. He awkwardly stares at Mitarai, having no idea how to converse with him. ]

...Is it.

[ A pause. ]

It is...!

...You're not going to spontaneously combust again, are you?

[ ...There's another awkward pause. Oso is clearly expecting Mitarai to respond to that. Even though there's just uncomfortable silence. ]

[Ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh my god this is the most awkward thing that's ever happened to him. Okay. He can do this. Think, Mitarai, think. It seems like at first Ichimatsu was doing something weird, and instead of approving of that, Osomatsu looked to Mitarai for help. So... what's in his toolset? Of course! Running away!]

Don't look at me! I never had any pets, I don't know how to lure them in! It's probably for the best if they don't come over that darn wall, anyway.

[ososoi]

[ All of a sudden, all the brothers' (including Osomatsu) faces go blank at the mention of the wall. If you could see them, you can see that their faces look exactly the same for the moment. ]

[ 'Remember the wall? Remember what happened?' ]

[ 'Wait, what happened at the--?' ]

[ 'HENEEDSHISBROTHERS' ]

[ Oso appears to have... blanked out for a certain amount of time before shaking his head to regain his composure. The other brothers' faces stay frozen. ]

Uh... I'm sorry, what was that again?

[lovedanime]

Erm...

[He messed up. He plunged Osomatsu into despair! He doesn't know exactly what he did. But it was obviously his fault. Mitarai takes a big step back.]

You know what? I must have slurred my words a little bit. From the... the... Low blood pressure! Yeah, like Tsumiki-san always— I was really on my way to get lunch before this, actually.

[ososoi]

[ The other brothers' faces unfreeze, no longer looking identical, and they just look at each other in confusion. ]

Uh, wait, hang on! Is somethin' wrong?

[lovedanime]

No! No, no, no, no, no! I just am running so late! Hahaha!

[He's taking big steps backwards without looking.]

[ososoi]

[ Oso raises an eyebrow. ]

...Mitarai-kun?

[Openly breaking into a run and waving—]
