[Entrance Exam] Week One

It would seem that it will be... some time before you're released. Two weeks. That may sound like forever, in this situation. But you aren't left with nothing to do. The Administrator has been kind enough to update the Tasks application on your tablet. There are also now several different tasks that you can accept. Who knows... you might get something good out of it. It's worth checking out at least. There are also several other new applications you can toy with, too.

And you won't go hungry. The staff is here to prepare meals three times a day. Breakfast is served from 6AM-8AM, lunch from 11PM-1PM, and dinner from 5PM-7PM. You'd best make sure you're in the cafeteria in time for those meals, because they won't be waiting around all day for you. They have lives, too. Unfortunately, you won't really be able to ask them about any of that. The serving area is separated by a glass wall, through which they serve you. Even if you try asking-- it would seem they have been told not to answer.

The rest... well. You may just have to see for yourself. At least you're not alone.

Oh yeah. Bet that'd be the most popular club around. Hm, no, she used this thing called a Dragonstone. All Manaketes can use those - that's her species. She's also really old, but she looks like she's younger than me. Gotta say, I'm pretty jealous of her. If I could use one of those stones, I'd be using it all the time, for sure!

b. calmly move away from the ball's trajectory, or
c. dive for the ground and yell like a fucking weenie

So like any reasonable person, of course he chooses c. Duck and cover!]

Well, like the sorts of things you hear about in folklore. Spirits that play tricks on people, creatures that aren't human or animals... although I guess those are also pretty common in novels and movies nowadays too.

[But either way, the only animal-like things he's talked to before were all youkai, so.]

[It might take a couple more pokes to get there, but eventually Natsume's eyelids will flicker and open. It's another couple of seconds before he finally seems to register that someone's nearby (and poking him), but once he does, well.]

[Time to awkwardly try to back away on his elbows?? It doesn't really work that well though and he just kind of manages to slide backwards an inch or two as he stares at Henry.]

I don't think you're wrong, but then I don't get how this icebreaker really fits in... the introductions on the first day were like that too. It seems like they just want us to get to know each other.

[ It's kind of hard to focus with that sound going on, but once it ceases at 5:00 pm, Hanamaru feels so relieved beyond words. While she probably would have been able to block out the sound due to being easily focused on food, it feels better to work on baking without a strange noise going off in the background.

So with full determination, she cheerfully throws on an apron and is ready to begin baking! She hums to herself while gathering bowls, spatulas and just about anything needed for cooking. ]

Baking treats for the the corgi sounds like a fun task! [ She happily smiles and clasps her hands together in excitement. This is the best mission ever!!! Being near food and showing kindness to a robot puppy is like a dream. But then she stops as a sudden realization hits her and she slowly turns her head towards Akira, looking perplexed. ]

... What would impress a robodog?

[ At exactly 9:00AM, the power completely shuts off. It'd be completely dark, if not for the bits of sunlight that shine through the windows on campus. Still...the AC's off, you won't be able to charge your devices--you may find this mildly...or highly inconvenient. The flashlights on your tablet are there, if you need them. ]

I wouldn't know if I'd use it all the time, but it still sounds like something I'd want to try out.

I'm going to go reset the breakers. There's... a spare generator... in storage outside. If I can't turn the lights back on... you'll be able to use that to restore power. There should be... a key card... to help you use it.

[She takes a deep breath and prepares to leave.]

[To whoever steps forward, she offers what appears to be a photo ID. It has her face on it as well as a barcode.]

This... if you scan it... you'll have the access you need. Make sure... you give it back when you're finished...
