Week 4

[ It's now Week 4 at Fayflower University. With the new week comes another memory, and a new floor to explore. That's nice, after everything, right? Right, of course it is.

However, other things have changed besides the floor access. The wall has always been a point of contention after the fiasco in week one. And then the frog, and now the investigation. However, going within three feet of the wall is oppressive now, in feeling. It feels as though you're being watched-- and targeted for something.

[okay well he shuts his eyes and flicks his wrist like he's reaching off to pull boiling hot food out of the oven.]

[It spins.... a little? Enough?

It's landed on her, shock of all shocks.]

... [She briefly considers making an explosion noise with her mouth.] Uh, hey. You can open your eyes now.

Isn't this exciting! One dare, please!

I... Um... Oh! I do have an idea!

I dare you to say one nice thing to another Apprentice! Please try to commit to it and not say "your organs look nice outside your body" or something...

[HMMMMMM.]

Oh! Mr. Plankton is stunningly evil!

[HIIMDAISY WHY]

Evil is bad!

I think it's quite charming, actually.

How? That's the opposite of what evil means to me!

I really don't understand!

Evil is evil, but it's not bad, you know?

[he looks like in some way he does know]

I don't know, no. I really don't.

I'll put it like this. He's utterly despicable, truly evil, but that's why I like him.

[ If Mitarai spins it... ]

How about a dare?

Hmmm... [Maybe Terra is a friend with whom he can be playful.]

I dare you to pick up another apprentice princess style! [He raises his finger.] With their consent! Consent is important!

What? Really?

[ Terra's expression is filled with surprise, but then he considers it, before giving a nod. His eyes follow along some of the girls, before he looks at some of the other guys as well. As a result, he does catch Akira and Shirou sharing an intimate moment. He wonders if that is the reason for a certain someone's comment last trial--he wasn't aware two guys could be like that, but he holds no judgement, and it's kind of sweet, actually.

He begins to think through his options again...well, maybe he doesn't have to choose a girl. ]

[ He looks back at Mitarai. ]

Another apprentice? So that's any apprentice, if I've got that right.

I'd like to choose you--if I've got your consent.

[Out of all the possibilities, Mitarai had never considered that Terra would find him the most interesting, and it's very clear from his demeanor that he's immediately started overthinking this with great stress. They're friends, of course, but doesn't Terra have other friends too? And that glance at the local bakkapuru is so pointed... Mitarai thought a princess carry would just be a funny demonstration of physical strength appropriate regardless of factors like age. But did he really? Why did he use the charged – outright heteronormative – term princess? Was he trying to make Terra fall for him? It's not how Mitarai would go about pursuing that goal at all, honestly - but it isn't his goal, and what does it say about him that he even thought about manipulating another person that way?]

[Wait, he's thinking way too much about this! He intended the dare as a normal gesture between any apprentices, Terra said that includes himself, and that's all there is too it! Trust is what he wants to promote so much and never managed to convey by catching someone, so this is the only way he can show Terra how he really feels!

Mitarai squares his shoulders.]

I, I consent!

[ For a moment, Terra felt kind of nervous.

It's been awhile since he's tested the boundaries of any person here, and willingly too. Terra kind of hid it well, but he wondered if Mitarai would find his choice...strange.

Mitarai's hesitance is enough for him to suddenly almost blurt out that he was joking, because that wouldn't be too odd would it? And he doesn't want to make him feel uncomfortable either.

But then, the blond asserts that it's fine, and Terra finds himself smiling. ]

Good. Hang on tight, Mitarai.

[ Terra will then reach out to Mitarai, and kind of just immediately scoop him right into his arms, bending in low to make it happen before he'd rise to his feet. It's probably sudden, but maybe a part of him really wanted to do this...and found it kind of fun actually.

He twirled the blond just once in his arms after waiting for him to hold on tight or just basically grab on, and smiled down at him. ]

There we go. How did it feel?

[As soon as his feet leave the ground Mitarai throws his arms around Terra's neck tightly. He shuts his eyes, entire body tense, and only blinks them open once he's firmly at the zenith of the lift. And when he does... he finds himself awkwardly laughing.] U... u... ui...!!!

[With a breathless grin he looks back up at Terra's smile. It's like he's an astronaut and his vessel made it into orbit against all odds. That's how much this good outcome surprises him. Terra really is a trustworthy and supportive friend in every sense of the word.] That was really fun but please put me down now!!!!

[ He laughs loudly and throws him up okay no he doesn't.

What really happens is that Terra just carefully sets him down. ]

There you go.

Thanks for indulging me on this, it really was fun. I might actually take a spin at it when I get the chance.

[ The bottle, he means. ]

Mmmhmmm! [Mitarai is carefully alighting his feet down and patting over his torso to make sure everything's in one piece. Then he beams up at Terra.]

You totally should!

[While still facing him, Mitarai has his gaze a little less focused on Terra's face as he takes in the lively party to see if anyone else is looking for people to tease.]

I'm not sure anyone else at this party but Orga could carry you... so the bottle will probably just have to give you some other adventure. It'll be a surprise!
