[ What do you do after all that?
Well, you mourn. After...an hour or so, a note goes out, under everyone's doors- everyone's. ]
If you also don't want to be alone after the day we've had, come to the second floor of the dormitories. Food and drink will be provided. Alcohol will be confiscated immediately.
[ You'll find Rebecca's set up the common area with food, that she seems to keep supplying, every so often. It's kind of strange, though, she seems like the sort of person to harp on eating well? She definitely has, for some of you. Yet, the food seems a strange split. On one side, there's all kinds of fruits and vegetables and breads. Legumes, made maybe not the best, but it's still an effort. Vegetable soups, no meat in sight. Simple seafood. If you're familiar with Greek culture? Yeah. It looks a lot like something they'd describe in...a history book.
On the other side? God, it's all burgers and pizzas and...pineapples? Pineapple juice? What the heck, Rebecca? In any case, there's enough food to keep everyone fed, and it seems...Tess, oddly enough, keeps bringing batches of burgers from the kitchen?! What a team-up.
The Starbucks is open too, where it's a bit...quieter? Some tea and coffee set up, there.
For those who just want to cry, in peace. ]

Mitarai isn't going to express an opinion. He's in the soundproof room, he doesn't know Rantaro is there.]

You want something to eat?
[That's Rantaro's handwriting. Hard to mistake it by now.]

You sure?

[he wrote "kun" in katakana instead of kanji. something is off, though from such a short message it's hard to tell what]
no subject
Yep. Just checking on you after that mess.
[They might run out of space on the paper soon.]
ongoing cw for "that mess" incl suicidal ideation and encouragement thereof
"I" am fine, I still have my civil rights since I didn't do "something"
[two more katakana words. great sign]
WHELP
[And here's the notebook paper again.]
I get it, but should we really be distancing ourselves from this?
[There's an arrow pointing to the second katakana word.]

that's the social construction of justice
[he places it unevenly so "that's" goes below "distancing". in general this version of the note was passed more forcefully]

[The note is passed back.]
You need someone to talk to? In private?
no subject
[to his credit at least that's a couple of legitimate english loanwords]

It's paranoia.
Not what anyone needs right now, but he can't just leave Mitarai there...]
If that's how it is... Then just talking could do you some good.
I'll leave you something to eat near your door in case you change your mind about the food.
[He slips the note under again and wanders off for a moment. He'll return presently with some tea and a couple of slices of pizza to leave right outside the door. Where the mysterious stuff would be.]

Rantaro makes a mental note to try and get a hold of Mitarai when everyone's not freshly sore...]
