WEEK SEVEN
[Week seven is here. Surely the course is drawing to a close soon? There are more places to explore, and there can't be that much more going on but...
The wall is actually very ominous now, like something has been awakened. The field is almost impossible to be near, that's how oppressive the wall is around it. There are also physical signs of darkness dotting the wall.
Welcome, you're almost near the end.]

Stop building it up!
[He's already got his eyes shut.]
no subject
Keeping your eyes closed would not be the best idea.
[He's not going to say why though, as they finally reach an abandoned mansion room filled with cobwebs. It looks like the lair of a giant spider. There's what are probably supposed to be cocooned bodies and obviously fake human skeletons scattered around... but where's the spider? There's certainly a myriad of smaller fake ones dangling from the ceiling. They'll have to walk through them to get to the hallway on the other side.]
It'd be a shame if you walked into any spiders.
[Not that it'd happen with how tightly Gogol is clinging to his arm, but he can't just let him keep his eyes shut the whole time.]
no subject
I don't want spiders in my hair!!
[Or in his eyes, or face, or anything. But that's his first thought and priority.]
no subject
[Poe starts weaving them through the hanging spiders. They have to duck a few times to get to the other side, but after a few minutes they're back in yet another spooky hallway.]
Was that so bad?
[He found it rather quaint in an amateurish way.]
no subject
How much more of this is there?!
no subject
[It's not that bad. The entrance to the next room can even be seen further down. You can even hear the creepy music box playing from it.]
Although... I would have thought we'd have had something suddenly pop up or drop down by now.
[It's at that moment that a giant fake spider drops down from the ceiling of the spider room behind them. It has fake glowing red eyes and a monster screeching noise plays. Poe actually does jump forward with a small squeak at this... although it soon turns into a laugh as he sees how obviously handcrafted it is.]
no subject
WAAAAAAHHH!
[There he goes, burying his face into his shoulder, cowering until it's safe.]
no subject
It's... um.... s-safe now. Just... it's just dolls now.... although the jack-in-the boxes probably have something nasty in them.
no subject
Oh, that's not scary at all!
[Maybe he's speaking too soon.]
no subject
[He personally likes the more Victorian style ones himself, but creepy clown dolls are also something of a classic he supposes.]
no subject
[Something terrible's going to happen soon, isn't it?]
no subject
[Not like there's anyone there to stop them.]
... although it'd be best to move on soon. The jack-in-the-boxes will go off any minute now.
[Almost as if on cue, they all go off and ugly little handmade heads pop out of them as a cackling sound effect plays and a few of the doll's heads start spinning. At least the clown dolls are safe?]
no subject
Hahaha! [It's a little shaky, with the brief rush of adrenaline.] Now that was fun!
no subject
[Poe had initially startled at the whole spectacle. It took a few seconds, but he soon relaxed and started grinning at Gogol's reaction.]
Well? Are you ready to continue?
[The hallway leading out of the room is darker than all the previous ones. It only has a few faint lights leading down the hallway just bright enough to barely see.]
no subject
Let's go!
no subject
[Into the darkness they go! As soon as they get through the doorway, a gate crashes down behind them. Poe startles at this, but soon shrugs it off and continues. Faint light from the next room can be seen at the end of the dark hallway. If one squints then the outline of a few tombstones can be seen. The hallway after that room should be the midway point... so they're almost halfway through.]
no subject
no subject
.... I'll give them points for the mechanics.
[That's all though.]
no subject
They're scaring me more than your stories ever did!
no subject
[Poe huffs in offense at the idea his works are inferior to all this amateur level work. He doesn't have time to stay offended though. When they are half way through the room, fake zombie arms erupt out of the graves as if trying to grab at them. He yelps and takes a few steps back in surprise... before sighing and rolling his eyes at the terrible paint job on them.]
The quality of some of these props are terrible.
no subject
AAAAH!
[Don't let them grab his cape!]
no subject
They can't reach you as long as you stay on the path.
[He ushers Gogol along the path and into the dark hallway into the next room. True to his word, the hands got close, but were never able to actually touch.]

no subject
oh no the GHOSTS]
Ah-!
[It's just a short squeal, but Gogol ducks back into the safety of Poe's shoulder once again.]
