[Entrance Exam] Arrival
You wake up. There’s a dull, throbbing pain in your head that lasts for a few moments. You’re slightly disoriented at first, but once you come to your senses, you realize that you are not where you were last. You lift your head and realize that you're sitting at a desk. You aren’t quite sure where this is, exactly, but from what you can tell--desk and all--this appears to be some sort of...fancy classroom. Maybe there are others in the room who are as lost and confused as you are; maybe you’re the only one. At least you’re not in the dark. The room is well-lit, giving you a proper view of the blue and silver designs that make up the school’s colors.
You feel something around your wrist, so look down at your hands and notice a strange sort of bracelet. Some of you may be able to discern that it's some sort of Fitbit, but try as you might, you cannot remove it.
You only have a few more seconds to process what’s happening before you hear something buzzing on the desk you’re sitting at.
It appears to be a tablet of some sort. It turns on automatically due to a notification that pops up on the screen. The notification reads, “Good morning, Prospect. Welcome to Fayflower University’s Entrance Exam!”
There’s a “Next” button that leads you to another notification: “Please spend the next hour introducing yourself to your fellow Prospects. More information on your peers can be found on the "Profiles" app. Failure to engage will result in punishment. Be sure to adhere to the rules, which can be found in an application called “Rules” on this device.”
There’s one last notification: “When the hour is up, report to the Gymnasium immediately for your Orientation. You will be given further information and instruction there.”
You exit out of the notification. You now understand what the notification means: the tablet has four applications: Rules, Tasks, Profiles, and Maps. If you try to click on the Tasks app, another notification pops up indicating that the application is currently unaccessible. The Maps app only shows you a map of the building you're in right now. There's a little marker indicating your location as well: The one and only classroom in the vicinity.
A large red timer appears at the bottom of the screen. 59:59.
You'd better get started.

BLESS......
... supposedly, he has to answer to one of you
apparently kind of hot, goddamnitfuckers. Who pauses a lot while she's talking. And okay. Listen??? He'd figured he'd use what time he could get to see if he could find an escape. Also he was specifically told to introduce himself. Sigh... anyway.
His expression is far calmer than what he feels, and he's casual about sliding his hands into his pockets. ]
Fine. [ jawline. tensing. ] It's Aiden.
no subject
The strong and silent type, right?
no subject
[ Hah. Get it?
After about thirty seconds, he releases his millionth sigh since his arrival here. Wh-why are all you anti-murder(ers) folks even talking to him. ]
Yep.
[ Tilting his head to the side. ]
And you're apparently the type to fight for justice.
no subject
I can't make you get along with everyone... and... I understand if it's a little uncomfortable. Just... do your best... okay?
no subject
I have to admit being kidnapped is among my top five least favorite ways to spent a vacation.
[ That is said in a tone that is way too calm for somebody claiming to hate being kidnapped? ]
But, I guess if I have to be stuck here, I might as well make the best of it.
no subject
As for... making the best of it... please do, for now. You're all... very important...
no subject
[ In spite of that, his tone doesn't sound necessarily accusatory. More like he's simply trying to observe her with a small amount of obvious bitterness being allowed to leak through. ]
And, would you say we've been declared more important as people or as playthings?
no subject
...you are not playthings. No more than Rocchi.
[She gestures to the robot corgi.]

Humans are difficult to connect with, face-to-face. It doesn't help that some of them are just terrible.
[ That sounds more like a personal opinion than what he was going for, but it still proves useful in that regard... Even if it does suck that she's seeming more and more Relatable(tm), for him. He hates this. Still, he keeps his voice calm as he finally adds in a quiet voice: ]
Saying one thing is easy; proving honesty to a bunch of strangers - ones who are on guard around you - is a different matter entirely.
no subject
[ Hello there, Aiden. ]
Does this happen a lot for you? Suddenly being put on the spot, that is.
[ He's sure he could've run into the guy just fine later on even if he did avoid the main gathering. ]
no subject
Being a killer for hire comes with its ups and downs.
[ Hey, people already know his job, and he has that Awesome Title attached, so! So!!!! ]
One of the downs happens to be getting shoved into the center of the group for any punishments, even if it's one you won't be walking off.
[ Days since Aiden said some fucked up shit: 0 ]
no subject
Still, he didn't like the sound of what this guy just said. Giving what he'd asked it sounded like it was a common occurrence too. ]
...Did you ever try to escape all of that? Or was that sort of thing impossible?
I mean, until now.
no subject
I wouldn't think this qualifies as an "escape" by most people's definition of the word. [ a shrug ] Anyway, it wasn't the worst situation I ever could have been in.
no subject
[ ... ]
You're not counting this as an escape because we were brought here somehow without our knowing, I'm guessing.
[ But to Terra it sounded like a way to escape from a bad situation. Then again, he knows it's probably not going to be the same for everyone else. ]
no subject
[ With a quiet sigh, he adds: ]
And that's not even going into the other, more important details.
no subject
[ ... ]
What other details?
[ There are many things to consider, he knows. But, he's curious what the other man has on the top of his list. ]
no subject
[ And now he's sighing. ]
Not having access to our abilities - aside from anything mundane, not having our weapons, and not having any way of contacting people outside of this school.
[ Third is actually the most important, which is why he listed it last. Because Aiden. ]
no subject
I'm hoping they'll keep to their word.
[ Otherwise we'll have problems. But, Terra is aware that even this could turn sour -- he's had enough manipulation at the hands of Xehanort to realize that, at least. ]
...I haven't gotten a chance to try contacting anyone. [ Partly because he doesn't know how to. ] But that one is kind of strange, seeing as we're supposed to be just here to attend this University place in order to help them with their issue.
no subject
Only one way to find out if they will...
[ He pulls out a totally useless cell phone, showing it to Terra. ]
While you guys were busy introducing yourself to one another, I spent that hour searching the school. I didn't find anything useful. This whole place is locked down.

no subject
[He's been there. He's sympathetic, really, even if he's saying that out loud.]
I'm Yoosung, for what it's worth!
no subject
No kidding...
[ Yoosung gets a very small wave. ]
Yoosung Kim, right? You're the main gamer.
no subject
[Oh, but if he already knows him from the tablet, he should refresh himself on the profiles as well. Right, this guy is the prospect of... HMM.]
...It says here you hunt monsters?
no subject
His jawline tightens at that question. Aiden's not used to just talking openly about this sort of thing with random strangers. ]
Yeah. That's what we call them.
[ h e h ]
no subject
[That's so ominous, what the heck.]
cw: we're talking about eatin' folks up in here
Ones who abused magic at the cost of their humanity.
[ Maybe something could be said about how he's saying this without seeming remotely bothered. ]
Sometimes, magic users transform into beings that devour the flesh of regular humans. Hunters exterminate them to protect those people. If they were left alone, there's a chance they could easily wipe out an entire city in a matter of days.
