[Entrance Exam] Week One

It would seem that it will be... some time before you're released. Two weeks. That may sound like forever, in this situation. But you aren't left with nothing to do. The Administrator has been kind enough to update the Tasks application on your tablet. There are also now several different tasks that you can accept. Who knows... you might get something good out of it. It's worth checking out at least. There are also several other new applications you can toy with, too.

And you won't go hungry. The staff is here to prepare meals three times a day. Breakfast is served from 6AM-8AM, lunch from 11PM-1PM, and dinner from 5PM-7PM. You'd best make sure you're in the cafeteria in time for those meals, because they won't be waiting around all day for you. They have lives, too. Unfortunately, you won't really be able to ask them about any of that. The serving area is separated by a glass wall, through which they serve you. Even if you try asking-- it would seem they have been told not to answer.

The rest... well. You may just have to see for yourself. At least you're not alone.

1. common room

[ once the greetings are all done with, flat immediately makes his way to the common room, where he spends a good chunk of the day. he seems to be excitedly fidgeting with the tablet, because he is playing a mean game of cookie clicker and boy he's hooked.

if you approach him, though, he'll look up from the game and grin. ]

2. lunch

[ despite what others may be hoping, flat has yet to run out of energy, even when he's hungry. he's happily eating his vegetable soup as if he hadn't eaten in years--which, yes, he has.

but even the somewhat dubious cafeteria food won't deter his excitement. ]

This tastes amazing. Are you gonna eat yours?

3. investigation

[ other than that, flat seems to be excited about getting to know where he's being kept prisoner in. he'll be found walking around the main building and, if anyone looks like they're just standing around, then he'll go up to their personal space! ]

[Ah! Look who's out of her office. She... doesn't look entirely comfortable about it, but she's come all the way here-- it must be for some reason.]

...I just came to see how you all were adjusting... and make sure the accommodations were satisfactory...

[ the garden is beautiful, kaoru thinks. it's a nice change of pace from the overall...industrial-ness of the school building. she bends down to look at a frog hopping along, not too close; just close enough for observation and admiration. ]

Hello, little one. I don't suppose you talk, too?

[ in the main building, kaoru is leaning against one of the walls with her tablet in hand. seems like she's pretty intrigued by whatever's on the screen! her eyes are wide in fascination, and she's slowly tapping it with one finger. ]

I see...so the more I tap on this, the more cookies I produce? How fleeting...

[ did you ask for this? you sure didn't. but kaoru is pointing to both flat and henry who happen to be in the vicinity of...wherever this is...and holds up her tablet with her other hand. ]

Ah, forgive me--I got a little excited about finding those who may be willing to assist me. I'm interested in doing one of the tasks, you see, and would like some companions to join me along the way.

flat practically beams at the admin when he realizes that it's her, and moves over to let her sit next to him. ]

They're great, thank you! You programmed these tablets-- just like the dog, right?

[ flat may not have asked to be approached like this, but he sure isn't going to say no. he checks out the tasks, and smiles at one. ]

These tasks look great! Especially spending time with the robodog!

Yet, aside from the brief bristling, he's soon looking a bit defeated by all that enthusiasm. He'd been standing there because he's trying to come up with a plan for smashing through that fucking cafeteria's glass wall. But... ]

... Fine. [ does that sound resigned? because it's definitely a little resigned ] Where'd you have in mind?

[If you've come to the Faculty Office-- it's likely for the owner of this office. In this case, thanks to the task posting, it's most likely because you've come to help... and potentially reap the rewards for doing so. After all, she's apparently lost something important to her. A notebook, specifically.

[Henry stands up a little straighter and does a little mock salute. Looks like it's Team Helpful over here, wow.]

[ YEP, he sure is here to help look! He lingers in the doorway, for a moment, lightly tapping his knuckles against the frame before entering. ]

... I'm sure this is an obvious question, but where's the last place you remember seeing it?

[There's a long pause-- long, even for her.]

What does the cover look like? Is it a solid color, or?

It's orange and yellow... alternating stripes.

[ So kind of like that shirt Miss Kawakami likes to wear a lot... noted. Maybe those colors were popular with women who grew up in the nineties or something. ]

All right. And you, uh... think it's most likely in here... somewhere?

[She visited the dorms for a short bit but, almost the whole time she's been in here.]

It's a game. You ever played one of those?

[ okay. this is fine. (it's actually not.) gladio's super pissed about the whole situation--for astrals' sake, he has to get back to noct in altissia. how the hell is he supposed to protect him if he's here? besides, the longer he stays here, the more possible it is he'll miss the damn wedding.

... at least iggy can take care of noct and prompto. still, he's not happy, and he works off his angry energy on the field. witness gladio with his shirt entirely off, running laps on the track. wow, he has a lot of stamina, doesn't he?

after he's worked out a little (ugh, there are no weights, lame), gladio showers and decides to grab a bit of lunch. it's not bad. but it also reminds him of high school and he isn't about that life. he eats outside, because we can have at least some nice things!!

afterward, he's just wandering around. ]

Can't believe there ain't a library in this damn place.
