[ Once again, the exam begins with the desks arranged in a perfect circle; one desk for each person that's participating in the program. There are nameplates for everyone, and they have been bolted to each of the desks, facing the inside of the circle...

...including the deceased. Their chairs have been placed on top of their desks, signifying that they will not be needed. Above of their desks are holograms of their portraits from their profiles, grayed out and bloodstained.

Today Han is absent-- only Megumi is present at the front of the classroom. ]


Today you are responsible for finding the culprit responsible for the death of Maya Fey, the Apprentice Falsely Accused.

Your exam begins now.

That's what I figured. I don't think our murderer was good at killing. Stabbing at Maya all crazy like that after she was dead -- they would've been panicking something crazy.

Logically that makes sense but-- We've completed two trials like this now.

Have you considered that perhaps it was set up that way to draw away suspicion?

Yeah, no. A couple stab wounds would be one thing. Going this hard had to've been an emotional-wreck kind of thing.

You might be Alexander the Great, but I've seen my fair share of gruesome murders, kid. This doesn't feel like a setup so much as somebody holding a knife and having a fucking freak out.

...Not to make accusations, but I don't think it would matter if our murderer was blind.

Look, I know the motive shit makes it seem like that'd be the case, but Maya would've been dead way before the last stab wound.

If they did this shit in a fit of blindness, they would've stopped sooner -- or at least not've kept going unless they were trying to incriminate themselves.
