WEEK 5
[ You're doing well! In fact, there's a nice message in your inboxes on Sunday reminding you about your midterm evaluations, and how those will be coming very soon. Make sure you're studying! And, of course, there will be support services on campus to help you cope with the stress. The message almost looks like it should go on and list what those services are, but it cuts off abruptly, and that's that.
Meanwhile, the wall is more ominous than it has been in the past. What felt oppressive last week feels oddly eerie, and if you let yourself stay near too long, it feels oddly comforting and calling. Your freedom is just on the other side of the wall, after all. But that's okay, someone has posted a warning outside all buildings to not go near the wall.
Oh well. At least there are new locations to explore!]

Well... I do plan to fully overcome that difficulty and understand one day. I’d... um.... I’d like to think I’ve made good progress on that so far.

[He means it in jest, but he doesn't doubt that Poe might actually go through such a thing.
He looks back down at his stitches, and then back to Poe. The urge to resume clowning around has started to bite at him once again.]
What's the verdict? Will I be able to walk again?

[Poe seems to remember why he was here in the first place and looks embarrassed that he almost forgot. He quickly stands up and steps back from Gogol.]
As long as you don’t do too much more of what you were doing when I got here... you should be more or less back to normal in two weeks.

[He’s added on time because of the strain he put on it today...]
I’m... not sure what else you were expecting. Waver didn’t exactly stab you lightly... the wounds were deep enough that you couldn’t walk. I... honestly cannot stress how lucky you were he didn’t stab the femoral artery. If he stabbed that then you would have bled out in minutes
[Poe just... sighs deeply. He can’t believe he has to explain exactly all of this...
Normally you should only have about a week left at this point... but because of all the strain you keep putting on it.. it’s not as healed as it should be. If you want a more optimistic outlook... than a week and a half... but that would require you taking better care of your leg than you’ve apparently been doing so far. If you aren’t more careful and actually tear the stitches... you’re risking the chance of an infection.
In the best case scenario the nurse here can try and treat it with antibiotics. If that works then the wound will heal... albeit far slower than the two week maximum I said earlier ... worst case... well....
[He looks at Gogol’s leg with mild concern. He... doesn’t think it will get to the worst case scenario... but he’s pretty sure it’s important to beat in the fact that Gogol doesn’t want to risk an infection.]
The infection could become serious and not go away.... and tissue will start to die. l... I’m... not exactly keen to see if they have the necessary medical equipment to preform an amputation.
[He gives that a few moments to sink in.]
I’m not trying to ruin your fun... I’m trying to make sure you don’t open the door to worse possibilities... because that is what friends do... I um... I think.
[He hopes Gogol realizes that it’d have been in the best interest of the group if he said nothing and let Gogol continue to slow down the healing of his leg and thus remain slightly less dangerous than he’d be at full mobility. But he’s a friend he that actually cares about so....].

[He frowns. A thought enters his head - would he even have that much time left here? It'd only be a shame if he couldn't finish Dostoyevsky's plans...yes, that's all, but he might like to do some more of this, have a little more fun, maybe.
Then, there's Poe's concern. Guilt rises to bite at his heels once more.
Despite himself, he lets out a laugh.]
I think an amputation might be quite exciting, myself.
no subject
I’d rather you not necessitate that.... they might not even bother to even give you an prosthetics.... at best you could probably hope for a peg leg.... and I’d um... really rather not see you have to adapt to that.... it’s not a good idea in this environment.
no subject
Can you imagine that?
[He can't tell if it's delightful or awful or both.]
I hope they'd at least let me keep the leg!
no subject
[Poe looks at Gogol’s leg and tilts his head in consideration.... if things actually come to that point then....]
.... I’m not sure we have a jar large enough to preserve your leg in.
[If Gogol’s going to keep his leg... then he better do it right]
no subject
[Honestly...that’s one of the essentials.
With a sigh, Gogol rolls down his trouser at last, and gets back on his feet - not without a slight wince, though he hopes Poe didn’t catch that.]
Am I good to go now?
no subject
[Poe frowns at Gogol wincing. He's tempted to try and drag Gogol back to his room and see if he can force the Clown to rest.... but he has a feeling that would be a futile effort. So...]
.... I'll pretend I didn't see that if you promise to try and be more careful about straining it.

[Despite his best efforts Poe can't keep a smile half mischievous and half amused off his face as he lists out Gogol's options.... the Clown really does bring out sides of him he usually doesn't show to others.]

What kind of favor, Detective?

[A very malicious smile spreads across Poe's face as he starts to outline his plan more.]
If we can figure out how they've disabled our Abilities and undo it... then your Ability would allow us to steal everything not nailed down to the ground. That would be the best case scenario for this plan. The worst case scenario.... well... I suppose that we could gather all the golf carts people have received and load as much as we can onto them.
[Then they could drive away with all their loot like a very strange caravan while the school burns down in the background.]
no subject
And what to do about the people?

[No hesitation there at all. Oswald is going to burn.... unless he has an amazing sob story.]
Han and Vivianne can live.
no subject
Oh please let me have some fun with him!

[A small wicked smile appears on his face.]
.... but there isn't going to be enough of a body left after the fire to tell the difference.
