[Entrance Exam] Week One

It would seem that it will be... some time before you're released. Two weeks. That may sound like forever, in this situation. But you aren't left with nothing to do. The Administrator has been kind enough to update the Tasks application on your tablet. There are also now several different tasks that you can accept. Who knows... you might get something good out of it. It's worth checking out at least. There are also several other new applications you can toy with, too.

And you won't go hungry. The staff is here to prepare meals three times a day. Breakfast is served from 6AM-8AM, lunch from 11PM-1PM, and dinner from 5PM-7PM. You'd best make sure you're in the cafeteria in time for those meals, because they won't be waiting around all day for you. They have lives, too. Unfortunately, you won't really be able to ask them about any of that. The serving area is separated by a glass wall, through which they serve you. Even if you try asking-- it would seem they have been told not to answer.

The rest... well. You may just have to see for yourself. At least you're not alone.

Did you smash watermelons?

[ ... ]

I've never fought on a beach. It doesn't seem like it'd be very stable underfoot.

Nope. I don't think we had any. I saw a guy's head get smashed, though! Does that count?

[IT VERY OBVIOUSLY DOES NOT, HENRY.]

Oh yeah, it's a bit of a pain. But hey, just as hard for the other folks. And watching them struggle was pretty funny!

[ ... ]

No, I don't think it does. [ Yikes. ]

Did you have trouble with the sand then?

Aw, darn. Guess I can't cross that off the list then. Oh well, next time!

[Add that to the ol' checklist.]

Aw, not too much, I'm pretty light on my feet. Plus, there's a lot of desert where I'm from, so I'm used to it! But boy, the guys in heavy armor and the ones riding horses? They had it tough, alright!

[ WELL THEN. Note to self: avoid beaches when Henry is there. ]

Oh. That makes sense - the more weight you're bringing onto the sand, the more likely it is to shift. So you'd do better fighting on your own feet on a beach, rather than on a mount.

Yeah, pretty much! It's why you see a lot more mages on the battlefield in Plegia, 'cause there's all the desert, and in other places you'll see more buff armored guys and cavalry.

And I bet sand just gets everywhere when you're all armored up, too, ha ha!

[ There's something he hadn't considered. ]

And I thought it was bad enough when you were in swimwear and couldn't get rid of all the sand.
