[Entrance Exam] Week One

It would seem that it will be... some time before you're released. Two weeks. That may sound like forever, in this situation. But you aren't left with nothing to do. The Administrator has been kind enough to update the Tasks application on your tablet. There are also now several different tasks that you can accept. Who knows... you might get something good out of it. It's worth checking out at least. There are also several other new applications you can toy with, too.

And you won't go hungry. The staff is here to prepare meals three times a day. Breakfast is served from 6AM-8AM, lunch from 11PM-1PM, and dinner from 5PM-7PM. You'd best make sure you're in the cafeteria in time for those meals, because they won't be waiting around all day for you. They have lives, too. Unfortunately, you won't really be able to ask them about any of that. The serving area is separated by a glass wall, through which they serve you. Even if you try asking-- it would seem they have been told not to answer.

The rest... well. You may just have to see for yourself. At least you're not alone.

... I'll be honest, I just really enjoy coffee. So I guess I'd find the best place for coffee, and hope it was interesting.

[ ... ]

Isn't Italy supposed to be good for coffee?
enjoymyatelier: maybe he should check the foundations, come to think of it. (red car. good point.)

Italy is good for coffee... but I'd also recommend Turkey. That's one of the older places with a coffee culture, and it's always interesting to go back to something's roots to see how it evolved.

So... a grand coffee tour, is what I'm hearing.
enjoymyatelier: you're being too preemptive, bro... (how about a toast to my victory)

I mean, you could do worse. Far worse, even.

I'd be up for it. My guardian would probably like it too - he'd enjoy trying all the different blends of coffee.

Well, there you go. You have your perfect family vacation organized.

If I can get him to leave his shop long enough, and if his daughter is comfortable enough with it. Then, sure.

Ah, that's entirely understandable. I imagine arranging a sabbatical is far easier if you're a professor than a self-employed business owner.

Is that what you are, a professor?
enjoymyatelier: i am just done with this shit (ugh whatever)

[personal profile] enjoymyatelier 2018-05-29 06:21 pm (UTC)(link)
Yes, I am. Which makes my placement here interesting, but you know how it is.

They do say that you never stop learning in life.

[ But they probably didn't mean it literally... ]
enjoymyatelier: zach. they're here. (migrane's a comin.)

I didn't apply to this graduate program, though.

None of us did. Yet, here we are.
enjoymyatelier: king arthur with insubstantial tits was right theeeeere (but sooooolaaaaaaa)

[personal profile] enjoymyatelier 2018-05-30 07:37 pm (UTC)(link)
Why us, though. Surely there are probably better candidates.

[...like, him a week before everything went to shit. that would have been a better candidate.]

Probably.

[ Maybe. ]

But for whatever they want, we were deemed the best. Whatever that means. They didn't give us a criteria page.

I wouldn't really argue with them in my case, even if it seems like an unsatisfying thing for someone to just hand to me. I don't expect handouts like this.
