[ Once again, the exam begins with the desks arranged in a perfect circle; one desk for each person that's participating in the program. There are nameplates for everyone, and they have been bolted to each of the desks, facing the inside of the circle...

...including the deceased. Their chairs have been placed on top of their desks, signifying that they will not be needed. Above of their desks are holograms of their portraits from their profiles, grayed out and bloodstained.

Today Han is absent-- only Megumi is present at the front of the classroom. ]


Today you are responsible for finding the culprit responsible for the death of Maya Fey, the Apprentice Falsely Accused.

Your exam begins now.

... The knife still has blood on it. Which, yes, if you could see you'd clean it off and not leave blood smeared on the block either. [ ... ] So that leans more towards this being someone planting evidence.

They didn’t even clean the blood trail from the cafeteria to the garden either... meaning that... or they were unused to murder or they wanted the body to be found.

They left her in an easily found grave, maybe knocked her out before killing her, and left blood almost everywhere... it's inconsistent.

Well... let’s think about it. The culprit chased her from the Common Room down to the kitchen, where they probably knocked her out and proceeded to stab her twenty eight times. From there, they dragged her body to the garden where they buried her... and then proceeded to do the worst clean up possible. That’s why the unbroken guitar has the blood on it— they probably touched it on accident.

They went to the music room after it was all said and done, and got blood on a guitar. Don't forget that part.

Right. They had to put the broken guitar back in its place. [ a pause ] Although that’s the really illogical part of it. They should’ve just buried it. But perhaps they thought it was too precious to bury??

We can't just disregard all the evidence because it might've been planted. The stab wounds were on purpose! Or they weren't. The guitar was important! Or it wasn't.

The fact is, Maya was knocked out with a guitar. She was chased by the killer, before he knocked her out. So the killer can't have been blind if they were chasing her.

Do we know that for sure? Sight isn't the only way to follow someone, especially if they're making a lot of noise. Wasn't the common room a mess?

All I'm saying is, we're following the easy way, far too quickly.

Alright, then how did Maya, a girl who could see not outrun or get away from somebody would couldn't? I mean, all it'd take is diving into a closet and keeping quiet.

Maya's no stranger to death. She worked with a defense attorney. I think she would've been alright if some blind kid came at her with a guitar.

She might've thought she lost him. There's evidence that she was taken by surprise, isn't there?

But look at it another way, Rebecca. Who would suffer the most from getting their senses taken away? A deaf musician is terrible— even Beethoven himself stopped performing when he was almost completely deaf. All he did was compose for almost sixteen years.

We all suffered. Opinionated young men who couldn't speak, a conqueror who couldn't see, a perfect android compromised in any way. You cannot simply say it's Stuart. Not this fast and easy.

We're trying to figure this out logically, Waver. With the evidence and everything.

If you rush a vote because you don't want it to be Alexander-san, and someone innocent ended up killed what would you do?

I'd find a way to deal with it. But if you're going to erroneously vote for Alexander, then I'd rather be the one being voted off.

Not really. But it also doesn't matter to me. [ he shrugs ] I participated in a war for the sake of recognition--whether I die or not doesn't matter.

It's the fact the clean up is so bad that gets me. I don't expect them to have cleaned everything, given all the different locations. But a lot of it is like they just didn't even try.
