Midterm Exam
[ Once again, the exam begins with the desks arranged in a perfect circle; one desk for each person that's participating in the program. There are nameplates for everyone, and they have been bolted to each of the desks, facing the inside of the circle...
...including the deceased. Their chairs have been placed on top of their desks, signifying that they will not be needed. Above of their desks are holograms of their portraits from their profiles, grayed out and bloodstained.
Today Han and Vivienne both are at the front of the classroom, but it's Vivienne that finally speaks up. ]
Today is your Midterm exam. Having successfully passed the halfway mark for the semester, today's proceedings will be a little bit different.
You are responsible for finding the culprits responsible for the deaths of Doris and Hank Anderson. You will have several hours to discuss the evidence and your decision. Know that there are two people among these here that bear the responsibility for these events. You will be asked to vote for each. The two with the highest number of votes will receive their punishment.
...Your midterm exam begins now.
[ The physical evidence tray sits in the middle of the circle of desks; you all have the Evidence app on your tablets to access photo evidence. ]
Examination START.

"Okay everyone!"
We're getting too far off topic. At this point, we won't get anything done. Personal feelings or not, I think we should set those aside and get to it. It's the only way to get justice for Hank.

[SIGH. This started off badly.]

[ he stands up, arms crossed ]
The old man-- I mean, Hank...he fell from the AV room, but he didn't have any other injuries on him besides those related to the fall. That said, Monika said that she found weapons in the room, but no blood-- so clearly there was some sort of fight there before he was pushed off. Hank was a damn giant, and it takes force to push someone so hard against a window that it breaks. They had to know how to fight, and they had to be strong.
[ he nods at rebecca ]
That should rule her out immediately.

[DRAMATIC POINT]
As a victim of Miss Rebecca's repeated violence, I would not rule her out on strength alone!

If you startle someone here, they're fairly likely to be prepared for the worst. And if he fell back against the window-- he might have had a good chance of breaking it.

[ he totally deserves it ]
A smack on the head is nowhere close to pushing a six foot something policeman out of a closed glass window.

...Fuck off.
[ Osomatsu is really not in the mood for this right now. ]

I don't think it's Rebecca-sensei either, but if we don't explore everything as much as possible we're going to get it wrong someday.
So we have to look at that angle as well, I think.
[ IT'S WEEK FIVE WAVER, FOR CRISSAKES. ]

I think we're perfectly on topic. We- both Connor and I want nothing more than justice for Hank, but he wouldn't want us to push a human into death, for...for something so obscured!

I understand... but I don't think it's something we can fight.

[He makes a decisive hand gesture. His face is sad.]
Given the past cases, I think such a person would definitely be convicted...

What if Doris was the one who typed that?

Those stab marks on the AV room floor -- it'd make sense if it was Hank trying to defend himself. There wouldn't be any other reason why you'd do that unless you were tryin' to hit something small and nimble.
no subject
...And we do know that Doris would fit that description.
