Midterm Exam.

[ Once again, the exam begins with the desks arranged in a perfect circle; one desk for each person that's participating in the program. There are nameplates for everyone, and they have been bolted to each of the desks, facing the inside of the circle...

...including the deceased. Their chairs have been placed on top of their desks, signifying that they will not be needed. Above of their desks are holograms of their portraits from their profiles, grayed out and bloodstained.

Today Han and Vivienne both are at the front of the classroom, but it's Vivienne that finally speaks up. ]


Today is your Midterm exam. Having successfully passed the halfway mark for the semester, today's proceedings will be a little bit different.

You are responsible for finding the culprits responsible for the deaths of Doris and Hank Anderson. You will have several hours to discuss the evidence and your decision. Know that there are two people among these here that bear the responsibility for these events. You will be asked to vote for each. The two with the highest number of votes will receive their punishment.

Not the way that I died. Cyberlife would not have fixed me, and my central processor was badly damaged. Even if someone were to fix my body, they would never have given my memories back.

No one. Hale even told me I could go home to any point. But it's more complicated than that. What happened was inevitable. I couldn't have changed it.

It involves a lot of details about Detroit I don't expect anyone to understand. The androids had started a revolution. Cyberflife, the company that created me, intended that I become deviant, and that I take over the revolution so that the androids would trust me. Then, when they had all of them under my watch, they would take over my body and force the newly free androids to do their bidding.

[ there is a pause, and then matter-of-factly: ]

I could not allow that to happen. I shot myself in my central processor to keep Cyberlife from having their way.

[unhalting]

[It's true that a lot of this flies over Orga's head, but then again. Context like that has never been super important to him anyways.]

So if you go back, they'll do it all over again?
