Midterm Exam
[ Once again, the exam begins with the desks arranged in a perfect circle; one desk for each person that's participating in the program. There are nameplates for everyone, and they have been bolted to each of the desks, facing the inside of the circle...
...including the deceased. Their chairs have been placed on top of their desks, signifying that they will not be needed. Above of their desks are holograms of their portraits from their profiles, grayed out and bloodstained.
Today Han and Vivienne both are at the front of the classroom, but it's Vivienne that finally speaks up. ]
Today is your Midterm exam. Having successfully passed the halfway mark for the semester, today's proceedings will be a little bit different.
You are responsible for finding the culprits responsible for the deaths of Doris and Hank Anderson. You will have several hours to discuss the evidence and your decision. Know that there are two people among these here that bear the responsibility for these events. You will be asked to vote for each. The two with the highest number of votes will receive their punishment.
...Your midterm exam begins now.
[ The physical evidence tray sits in the middle of the circle of desks; you all have the Evidence app on your tablets to access photo evidence. ]
Examination START.

I told him this might happen. But I couldn't just let someone else die in front of me.

... You're a pretty selfish person, aren't you? [ It's said... more lightly than anything. And observation, not an accusation. ]

Truly selfish is asking us all to vote someone to death when all they did is save someone's life. And then ask us to vote for the person who didn't kill, but kept quiet to keep you safe.

[ Because on top of all this, he keeps thinking of Mike in that tiny tent looking genuinely happy, and now all this has happened. And it just leaves him feeling so angry. ]

You don't think I have any either?
[ He wasn't facing Akira before, but he is now. ]

Everything about this is wrong.

It's what he's been also thinking this entire trial. But he's tired...so tired...
He's so damn tired of it all. ]
It is. But what can we do? It looks like just be forced to accept how things are, even while we're trying as hard as we can to do what we can about it.

We find a way out of here. If I keep saying that enough, maybe I'll figure something out.

[ He clenches one of his hands into a fist.
And they'll pay for what they've done, if he gets any say in it.
But, in his moment of anger, his eyebrows furrow a little as he then considers something, looking like he'd say something. However, he turns towards the room, and then looks back at Akira.
He thought better of it--when they're somewhere else would be a better time. ]
