EXAM 2
[ Like last time, the exam begins with the desks arranged in a perfect circle; one desk for each person that's participating in the program. There are nameplates for everyone, and they have been bolted to each of the desks, facing the inside of the circle...
...including the deceased. Their chairs have been placed on top of their desks, signifying that they will not be needed. Above of their desks are holograms of their portraits from their profiles, grayed out and bloodstained.
Han is at the front of the classroom again, looking noticeably neutral about the entire setup. His laptop is closed behind him. ]
You know the drill. [his voice sounds soft, tight.]
Be careful with who you pick, as they'll be answering for their crime with their life.
[ The physical evidence tray sits in the middle of the circle of desks; you all have the Evidence app on your tablets to access photo evidence. ]
Examination START.

[If Viral has seemed rather reserved compared to the last trial, there's good reason, isn't there?]
I heard Henry talking to the damn head on my way to bed, so I followed him to the main building. He went for that administrator with the taser, and I tried to stop him, so that he wouldn't get killed like an idiot for breaking the rules, or worse. I grabbed him by the cape, but it ripped.
...Humans are much more fragile than I ever thought. He got me with the taser, and I lost control of my weight, slamming his head into the floor. The best that can be said for it is that it was quick.

.... Thank you for your confession.

[Namely, two model Gunmen.]
Don't let the clown get them.

...It was an accident. It was a fucking accident.
MOOOODS
Hey! Han. You realize you shouldn't condemn a rock for randomly falling on someone's head, right? So why should we have to execute someone who wasn't aiming to kill?
no subject
[he exhales, his face carefully neutral.]
If he is who you vote for, then yes.

What happens if one of us doesn't vote?

[ Yeeeeah, no, here comes the yelling. She stands, looking at Han and then...around the room, as if for someone they can't see. ]
They're watching, aren't they? Your superiors?! I want an answer, if this is supposed to be to show who's...who's honorable or able or something, an accident like this shouldn't count?! Why don't the bloody cowards just come out and say it, that this is just an exercise in your own fucking sadism?!

[ He can't help but curse those words under his breath, looking rather angry and frustrated at the whole ordeal. Even if it was an accident-- choosing someone else would mean killing someone else in the process, wouldn't it? ]
no subject
The anger that had been going through him dispersed almost immediately at Viral's confession--how could he be angry at someone who hadn't meant to kill someone? Even if that person was someone he cared about, Viral had been even trying to save his life--how's irony for you? He really wasn't expecting it, however, so he just...
... he knows what's coming. ]
At least you didn't let this go on for longer than it could've.
Maybe...
[ His words falter, as he feels like whatever he's going to suggest will be useless. It won't work, he figures it-- just like how it was with Mishima. Different circumstances, but...
He's starting to feel angry again, but for different reasons. Ones beyond either of their control, unfortunately. ]

[ waver has honestly had enough of this clown for today. he’s not strong or brave, but he is angry.
angry enough to go over to gogol’s spot to give him the hardest punch he can manage ]
SHUT UP!

[But Waver isn’t quite fast enough, and Gogol easily side-steps it, flourishing his cape like a matador.]
And here I thought we were starting to get along!

[ Accidental murder... ]
Sure would be nice if we could just charge you with manslaughter, damn.

Just be careful you don't make yourself a target. I don't think these children would manage all that well without you or Rebecca to keep them in line.
