[ Once again, the exam begins with the desks arranged in a perfect circle; one desk for each person that's participating in the program. There are nameplates for everyone, and they have been bolted to each of the desks, facing the inside of the circle...

...including the deceased. Their chairs have been placed on top of their desks, signifying that they will not be needed. Above of their desks are holograms of their portraits from their profiles, grayed out and bloodstained.

Today Han is absent-- only Megumi is present at the front of the classroom. ]


Today you are responsible for finding the culprit responsible for the death of Maya Fey, the Apprentice Falsely Accused.

Your exam begins now.

The answer is Connor wouldn't. But if somebody was, I dunno, freaking out or having a panic attack or something, I could see them going at it.

How could anyone not notice stabbing here didn't kill her? You'd have to be blind to not notice she's dead after like three stabs.

Delivering 28 stab wounds is overkill. Which would be helpful if you couldn't be sure you'd killed someone in the first place.

B-but... 28 times?! And besides, you’re not even focussing on the fact that they first knocked her out, and then proceeded to stab her! And then dragged her from the music room to the garden, and then buried her well enough to cover her completely! That doesn’t seem like the work of a blind person to me!

Hey, if I'm not mistaken, the murderer earns the incentive when the crime is committed. Wouldn't that mean they regained their sight after Maya finally died?

She was knocked out from behind. Really doubt a blind person could just sneak up on somebody like that.

The killer chased her between two buildings, going by the evidence. I don't doubt Alex was doing okay blind, but there's no goddamn way a kid who couldn't see could've caught up to someone who could.

Though damn, if Maya couldn't fight off a blind killer, that's... Kinda sad, actually.

Then it'd still be overkill to go for it that hard. A knife to the heart'll kill anyone instantly. Going overboard like that usually means the killer was in a highly emotional state and probably lost track of what they were doing. They would've just kept stabbing away until they could calm themselves down.

For the record, that still rules out Connor.

Forget Connor-san is one of the suspects for a minute here. If it's not because you're emotional - why else would someone stab her that many times?

You're either hiding something or making sure she's dead.

28 times is still goddamn overkill. Blood loss would've kicked in after like 5 or 6. You don't have to go this hard to make sure she was dead -- so yeah, maybe the stabbing was done to hide something. Or maybe they were having a goddamn panic attack.
